Simon Tournier

 I am currently permanent research engineer at Université de Paris Cité (ex. Paris 7 Diderot) working at the Core Facilities – Inserm U53, UAR CNRS 2030 – of the Saint Louis Research Institute. My day job deals with supporting various aspects of scientific computing about biological data.

Nowadays, I'm mostly focused on reproducible computations using GNU Guix and I use to strive for data analyses about high-dimensional flow cytometry materials. I am also trying to devote time to test long-range nanopore sequencing with HLA samples.

From 2012 to 2014, I was post-doc in the Applied and Computational Electromagnetics research group in Liège (Belgium) and then from 2014 to 2016 in Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, both working on various topics of numerical analysis (e.g., preconditioned BEM or FEM or DDM).

I prepared my PhD about wave scattering by rough surfaces at ONERA and defended it at ISAE-SupAero. My initial training is an engineering degree from ENSEEIHT (Toulouse). My CV.
